Joel Ifill is the founder of DASH Systems, a startup that has been awarded patents related to precision aerial delivery and has the goal of enabling one-day delivery anywhere in the world. As a company founder, Joel Ifill is part of a group of people known as entrepreneurs. Entrepreneurs have a significant impact on the economies of which they are a part.
The most obvious impact of entrepreneurs is the role they play in job creation. Entrepreneurship is a source of new products, technologies, and services. The creation of these products and services can have a cascading effect not only within the specific industry in which these products are created, but also on support industries. A good example of this would be the American IT Industry, which started out relatively small, but has since expanded significantly creating not only technology jobs, but jobs in other sectors as well. The introduction and development of software as a key business tool by the IT sector has created and expanded jobs in the computer networking industry, call center sector, and, as the need for more technology professionals grew, the education sector.
Entrepreneurship activities improve quality of life. Entrepreneurs are instrumental in creating and bringing to market newer, more efficient, more environmentally friendly, and more inclusive products and services that make life better for people. Recent developments in technology are a good example. They allow people from the developing world to have access to the same technologies as their first world counterparts, giving them a chance to effectively compete and raise their standard of living.
